Tutorial or Course Description

2 Lessons per Week | 36 Weeks | £7.50 per Lesson | OCTOPUS Class Online via Zoom | Student Webcams OFF | Microphones optional Upper KS3 and GCSE / IGCSE, Ideal for Ages 12+ Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:00 am Algebra is not an isolated topic on the GCSE Maths syllabus: it is the language in which we conduct mathematics. You cannot avoid it. Join Louise on this 1-year course to develop your skills in solving problems algebraically across all areas of the syllabus. Marvel at the mathematical magic you can weave and build a foundation in maths that will support all your future academic and career aspirations. The flip-side of not being able to avoid algebra is that once you’ve mastered it, there is no stopping you. Imagine being a native French speaker and sitting a GCSE in French – you’d not just achieve grade 9, you would ace the paper with close to 100%. Now imagine being fluent in Algebra: the GCSE Maths paper opens up and invites you to attempt every question and rewards you with marks all over the place. Included alongside your live lessons: - consolidation exercises to complete in between tutorials - recorded lessons to allow students to catch up on any live lessons that they miss (£5 add-on) - support between lessons via the Gill Learning private Facebook group for course members only We keep our class sizes small and accept between 4 and 8 students per class. Lessons are delivered online via the Zoom platform. For students, webcams are always off; this is a native Zoom setting, so you won't be able to turn it on accidentally. Students' microphones are also off by default. If you have a question, you can either: - virtually "raise your hand" using the Zoom feature, and unmute yourself to ask Louise a question, or - type your question in the Zoom chat box. Only Louise will be able to see your questions. Zoom is free to use as a course participant. We recommend downloading the Zoom desktop application for the best user experience, although Zoom can also be used via your Internet browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari). You'll receive a single Zoom joining link by email before your course begins; you will use the same link to join all of your lessons for the lifetime of the course. Terms and Conditions apply. For more information, please read the below.
